Brussels Airport Trains

A train station, Brussels National Airport Railway, is situated in the basement of Brussels Airport at Level 1. Since the general metro tickets cannot be used to travel aboard Airport Line that runs between Brussels Airport and the city, special tickets must be bought at the designated location.

Similar to Le Grande Place is the Brussels hub location, the major rail stations are at the city’s core. When you get to your Brussels Airport destination, you have the opportunity to bypass car hire or taxi ride because majority of areas have services that frequently operates to as well as from this airport via commuter local train.

The commuter trains operate every fifteen to thirty minutes in the major stations of the city and these include Midi – south of the city center, Nord – north of the city center, as well as Central, located in close proximity to the center of the city. You will find that the largest center of the three stations is Midi Station. The trains going at high speed make a stop at Midi only; However, ICE makes a stop at Nord also. At the Midi station there is a shower that found in a toilet that is close to the 19-20 platforms that is between the Quick and Origin’O. It is recommended that you acquire a Brussels Card prior to departing from your housing accommodation so that you can be admitted to the local transit network that is available to the public and also to museums. The connection to Brussels that is used more often has a minimum of three trains every hour.

A straight train connection with Leuven started operation in December of 2005. Thalys connects Paris-Nord directly with the Brussels Airport in a mere 1 hour and 47 minutes by way of Brussels-Midi. The straight connection with Mechelen and Antwerp by way of the route referred to as Diabolo line will begin operation to accommodate public service on June 10, 2012. This project is designed as a private-public partnership, and the decision has been made that every passenger that uses Brussels National Airport station to give a ‘Diabolo extra’ to aid in the financing of the continuous and scheduled project.
